James talks about important issue – countering the “cultural” revolution – which dilutes political issues whether it comes from the right or the left, thereby making politics feeble and causing further confusion among the voter population about effectiveness of politics. He is not, however, approaching the issue correctly. The argument should be based on separating cultural issues totally out of the political space, i.e., politics is solely for economic and human rights issue, but not for cultural issues at all. Citizens are free to enjoy any cultural practices as far as they do not affect others adversely.
